ISSN International Centre

ISSN International Centre, founded in 1976, is based in Paris, France, and coordinates and manages the identification and description of serial publications and continuing resources worldwide, both in print and online, using International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSNs). It also maintains and publishes the ISSN International Register, which is a comprehensive catalog of all assigned ISSNs. The agency is the registration authority for the ISO 3297 standard that regulates ISSNs.

ISSN International Centre is also known as the International Center for the Registration of Serial Publications (CIEPS).

ISSN International Centre coordinates the activity of the ISSN Network, which was established in 1975 and is currently active in 89 individual member countries. For more information, refer to www.issn.org/.

In the US, the national agency that allocates ISSNs to publishers is the US ISSN Center, which is overseen by the US Library of Congress. For more information, refer to www.loc.gov/issn/.
